Well stated Mary Ann, I guess in order to survive in Blackhawk and/or Alamo they needed a few extra thousands to keep up with their neighbor's. In most cases, anytime one is in-charge of money in and money out...some of it finds it fall through the crack and right into their pockets. This is a good lesson for the church also. You are not dealing with angels all the time.   more ›

Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins said the church contacted the department a couple of weeks ago to investigate the case.

St. Isidore parishioners attending Sunday Mass were told during services that local police are investigating an embezzlement involving the church. Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins confirmed Monday that the Police Department was contacted by the church about two weeks ago to investigate a possible theft. The Rev. Gerard Moran, pastor at St. Isidore, said he could not comment on the case because the investigation is ongoing. Mike Brown, a spokesman with the Diocese of Oakland, which is in charge of parishes in Contra Costa and Alameda counties, said he could not comment.  Simpkins said the department hopes to send the case to the district attorney's office within the next couple of weeks.
