Located in the heart of downtown Danville, the Danville Public Library was completed in 1996 and houses more than 18,000 square feet of books, periodicals, magazines and other media. It features a dedicated children's section as well as separate computer stations for kids and adults. The library hosts of variety of reading programs for toddlers, preschool and elementary school children, including a story time series. There is also a separate room for meetings and special events that can accommodate up to 25 people for dining and up to 40 people for assembly-style seating. After a day of reading, the large, grassy area in front of the building is the perfect spot for a snack or to let the kids burn off some energy.
