America's Best Karate was first founded in Los Gatos in 1982; since then, 10 more branches have been established, with the Danville studio opening in 1993. This studio teaches mostly tae kwon do, but also offers aikido and basic self-defense lessons. Classes are open to kids and adults, with a special 'Karate A-Z' program offered to preschool-age children. Lessons for each belt level are offered six days a week, and students are strongly encouraged to attend two or three lessons per week.
