Fresh seasonal ingredients, a sophisticated interior and vodka drinks are all reasons to dine at Amber Bistro, established six years ago on Hartz Avenue. It is a Zagat-rated restaurant and was a 2009 winner of the OpenTable.com Diner's Choice Award. Owner Eric Janssen says his restaurant offers a "city feel in the suburbs" with its tasteful setting and cutting-edge dishes. Chef Shane Hammett is in the kitchen preparing dishes such as the house specialty fire-roasted salmon, a clay-pot baked dish with a Thai-inspired red curry sauce. It offers 20 small-batch wines available by the glass and a full bar and its menu includes lunch, dinner and prix fixe options. There are 50 interior seats and a patio that accommodates 20 when weather permits.
