WATCH: Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 14s All-Star Baseball Team Wins NorCal State Title

The team will go on to the West Regional Tournament in Suprise, Arizona. Recognize any of the names on this roster?

The Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 14s All-Star baseball team won the NorCal state title last week after the team beat Palo Alto 4-3 at Clark Field in Woodland after an extra inning walk-off single by Luke O'Brien which scored the winning run. 

Alisa Borzone O'Brien told Patch about how the win happened: 

In the bottom of the 7th inning, down 3-2 with two outs, Brandon Greim hit a triple. In the next at bat the Palo Alto pitcher threw a wild pitch and Greim scored. No runs were scored in the eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, with two outs, Mark Molz doubled down the left field line. Next batter, Luke O'Brien hits a 0-1 single that fell in front of the center fielder and Mark Molz scored the winning run winning Tri-Valley the NorCal state title!

Luke O'Brien was also awarded with the Kyle Bristow NorCal State Commissioner Sportsmanship award for the tournament. 


Tri-Valley will represent NorCal in the West Regional Tournament in Suprise, Arizona. Opening ceremonies are Sunday evening with their first game on Tuesday, 8 a.m., against either Southern California or Southern Utah. 

The team is comprised of 15 players from Dublin, Danville, Pleasanton and San Ramon.
