The Chronicle Thinks SRVHS's Football Team is Better than Monte Vista's? Are They Right?

San Ramon Valley is No. 4 in the poll and Monte Vista is No. 20. Do you think San Ramon Valley High has a better team this season?

The San Francisco Chronicle has released its rankings for the upcoming football season and they think highly of both high school's in Danville.

Especially team. The Wolves are ranked No. 4 in the poll, 16 spots higher than town-rival , which sits at 20.

San Ramon Valley finished the season 10-4 last year, but star quarterback Zach Kline graduated and is now playing college ball at Cal. That said, there are high hopes for the QB replacing Kline, Cameron Birse.

Monte Vista finished 2011 at 8-5 and is also replacing a star quarterback in Jeff Lockie, who's now at Oregon. His replacement is Nikita Zamora and he's also highly regarded, being named to the USA under-19 team this July.

Last season, Monte Vista beat San Ramon Valley in thrilling season finale, winning 34-33.
