In the first round of NCS playoffs, San Ramon Valley traveled to Burrell Field to take on San Leandro. San Leandro made the first touchdown, leading the game 7-0.

The Wolves responded with Marcus De La Pena running it in from 3 yards out to tie the game 7-7 before the first quarter expired.

San Leandro capitalized on another San Ramon turnover going ahead 14-7. After a big reception by J.J. Koski the Wolves were able to again tie the game 14-14 with 4:32 left in the first half. San Leandro then marched down 91 yards to score going up 21-14 with 0:58 left in the half. What could have been the end of the half, San Ramon then completed a 50 yard pass to Christian Fuca to tie the game 21-21 with 0:31 left in the half.

San Ramon received the kickoff to start the second half and continued to light up the sky with a 70-yard pass to Wade Wilson to take the lead for the first time all night 21-28.

The Wolves defense kept the Pirates off the board by recovering a fumble after a bad snap. After an offensive 3 and out SRV's punt was blocked giving San Leandro the ball on the Wolves 12 yard line. Wolves' Defensive held them to a field goal and San Ramon held the narrow lead 24-28 with 3:17 left in the third quarter. San Ramon's following possession was filled with sloppy play with multiple dropped passes.

The first play of the fourth quarter was a San Leandro turnover and San Ramon regained possession. San Ramon tried to run down the clock but failed to get a first down and were forced to punt with 9:30 left in the game. San Leandro also failed to pickup a first down and went 3 and out and San Ramon took over with a short field starting at the Pirates 48 yard line.

With 8:26 left, San Ramon was able to put the game away with another touchdown pass making the lead 24-35. San Leandro could not recover after an intentional grounding penalty and a sack by Joe Burkhart having to punt the ball back with 7:20 left. San Ramon was then able to get another touchdown making it 24-42. San Leandro failed on a 4th down conversion and the Wolves took over and went into victory formation.
