Danville Honoring Maggie and Jessica Steffens Saturday

Maggie and Jessica Steffens will receive a key to the town at a ceremony at Oak Hill Park on Saturday.

The Town of Danville will honor its two gold medalists before its scheduled show at on Saturday.

At 5 p.m., Maggie and Jessica Steffens, the Danville sisters who won the gold medal in women's water polo at the London Olympics earlier this month, will be given keys to the town and sign autographs for fans.

Maggie was one of the American stars of the 2012 Games, scoring a tournament-leading 21 goals. The 19-year-old Monte Vista grad against Spain.

Jessica, 25, also played a pivotal role on the team, playing in all six matches and scoring once.

My Junior at SRVHS is in the guinea pig class for the new curriculum. The new curriculum started with AP Biology this year and it has been a disappointment. Parents, including myself, really need to educate ourselves on this. I thought this was a State program not a Fed program. Great...
