Danville's Jordan Giusti Starts for St. Mary's in NCAA Tournament Victory

The San Ramon Valley graduate played 37 minutes in his first start ever for the Gaels.

Former San Ramon Valley High star Jordan Giusti started his first collegiate game on Tuesday night and it came in St. Mary's biggest game of the season.

Giusti didn't get score, but played 37 minutes in the Gaels 67-54 victory over Middle Tennessee State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton, Ohio.

The redshirt freshman got the start because guard Jorden Page was sidelined with a knee injury.

St. Mary's will play Memphis in the second round in Auburn Hills, Mich. on Thursday.

At San Ramon Valley, Giusti averaged 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.4 steals as a senior and was named East Bay Athletic League MVP in 2011.
