In the lead up to the rival game with on Feb. 16, students created a video based on the song Seven Nation Army by Detroit garage rockers the White Stripes.
The students titled it Sixth Man Army and the lyrics were created and performed by Monte Vista's rally chairs Cameron Parsons and Jason Vawter.
The song has a line in it for each of the players on the team.
Monte Vista went on to win the Feb. 16 game 57-31. The team finished the season 20-9 overall. The Mustangs in the North Coast Section quarterfinals on Feb. 24 69-60.
