Whiz Kid: Matthew Havlick

Each week we highlight local kids and teens and their accomplishments. This week meet Matthew Havlick, a 6-year-old whose artistic talent is already gaining fans.

Name: Matthew Havlik, 6-years-old.

School: .

Accomplishment: Matthew's artwork was featured recently at the Installation and 2010 Community Awards dinner. It was the event program cover art and was also used to decorate the podium used for speakers at the event.

Key to Awesomeness: Matthew says his key to awesomeness is "practice."

"You should practice doing cool things like tricks on your scooter and video games," he says. Additionally "you should practice things like reading and writing,"he says.

He added you should also "be nice to your friends, your brothers (and sisters), and your mom and dad."

Know a great kid who made a big accomplishment? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kid. We want to hear about these amazing kids and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid. Submit your nomination to lizs@patch.com and kirsten.e.branch@gmail.com
