Viewfinder: Celebrating 100 Years of San Ramon Valley High Spirit

A silent auction, live auction, dancing and memorabilia were all part of a gala Saturday, celebrating the Danville high school's centennial. The event raised $100,000 for the school.

Hundreds celebrated the 100th birthday of San Ramon Valley High at the on Saturday.

The partygoers included San Ramon Valley High teachers and principals, alumni, current students and their parents. With a silent auction, music, pictures, and other memorabilia it was a festive atmosphere paying tribute to the “home of champions.”

The silent auction drew crowds frantically writing their bids as the auctioneer counted down the seconds.

Over 30 items were up for auction, varying from gift baskets to vacation homes and getaways.

A live auction was designed to give part of the proceeds back to the school.

For each item won in the live auction, 45 percent went to the winner's favorite program at the school, 45 percent went to the San Ramon program designated by the item's donor and 1o percent went to the Wolf Foundation, an affiliate of the , dedicated to development and improvements to the academic and athletic programs and facilities at the school.

The event raised $100,000 for the school.

After the rush of the auctions ended, the celebrating began, and with a little help from the school's leadership students, there was a group dance to the song “Celebration.”
