U.S. News & World Report: SRV Ranks No. 88, MV No. 144 Among Calif. High Schools

Both high schools in Danville cracked the top 150, out of 2,407 California high schools, of the U.S. News & World Report's top high schools list.

Of the 2,407 schools ranked (in 551 districts), SRV came in at 88th and Monte Vista at 144th.

U.S. News ranked nearly 22,000 high schools. Overall, SRV and MV ranked 465th and 770th, respectively, in the nation.

U.S. News worked with the Washington, D.C.-based American Institutes for Research (AIR), one of the largest behavioral and social science research organizations in the world, its website states.

The methodology was based on key principles that each high school must serve its students and not just those who are college-bound. The schools ranked must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show that the school is education its student body across a range of indicators.

A total of 21,776 public high schools in 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, were analyzed. The website said that Nebraska was the only state that did not report enough data and therefore was not evaluated for any part of the rankings.
