Monte Vista Junior Aryo Sorayya Wins Calif. State Science Fair Grand-Prize

Monte Vista junio Aryo Sorayya's project examined the issue of transporting freeze-sensitive vaccines in the developing world.

Aryo Sorayya is a talented dude.

The Monte Vista junior speaks English, Swedish, French, Japanese and Farsi, has a 4.75 GPA this year (I didn't even think that was possible), and just won the grand prize in the 61st annual California State Science Fair, the Contra Costa Times recently reported.

Sorayya's winning project, called "Overcoming the Cold Chain: Designing a Novel Freeze-Stable Vaccine," addressed the problem of transporting freeze-sensitive vaccines in the developing world.

"I didn't expect to win," Sorayya said, explaining that he had entered the contest as an alternate. "It was amazing. I can't really describe the feeling."
