Monte Vista High graduate Alexandra Curtis was recently elected President of the Student Association at Syracuse University in New York
2010 Monte Vista High School graduate Alexandra Curtis has been elected President of the Student Association at Syracuse University in New York.
“I’m just so honored to be able to serve in this position. This has been my dream ever since I came to Syracuse University,” said Curtis, who graduated from Monte Vista High in 2010. “I am looking forward to serving the students as their president,” she added.
Curtis grew up in Danville was a four-year cheerleader and lacrosse player at Monte Vista. She also attended Vista Grande Elementary and Los Cerros Middle School. Curtis is currently a junior and is double-majoring in Political Science and Public Relations at Syracuse.
She has been active in the Student Association her first three years and served for the past year as vice president.
Curtis was the only member of the Class of 2010 Monte Vista class to attend Syracuse, but she has helped counsel a number of Danville students who have enrolled or are thinking of enrolling at Syracuse.
“I have had a wonderful experience at Syracuse,” Said Curtis, “I know it seems far away, but I hope more students from the San Ramon Valley consider attending here.”
Alexandra is the daughter of longtime Danville residents Mark and Kathi Curtis, who now live in Rhode Island.
In December 2010, Patch featured Curtis when she was named National All-American Miss Teen.
