UPDATE: De La Salle Loses 30-6 to No. 2 Ranked Florida Team

Concord's national powerhouse racks up rare loss in nationally televised game.

In a nationally televised high school football matchup, Concord's De La Salle lost 30-6 to St. Thomas Aquinas, breaking a 28-game winning streak.

The fight between the nationally ranked No. 2 Florida team and the No. 3 California team, which last lost in 2009, was marked by four turnovers in an uncharacteristically lackluster performance aired on ESPN Friday night.

De La Salle High carries a 213-game unbeaten streak against Northern California teams but came close to losing a Sept. 3 game against Bellarmine — where they turned the ball over three times before edging out a win in overtime 26-23.

The team plays Livermore High next Friday in Livermore.
