During the graduation, Vikatolia Ffifita read a poem, "My Name Is," that she wrote in an English class. She read in part:

My name is not a thug.
I am a young lady that seeks to become best friends with lady wisdom.

My name is not a loser's excuse
I did not give up in school, I chose to come here.
Everyday I make the effort to come to class.
I am in control of my destiny, my choices guide the path and consequences erupt.

My name is not weak heart
I live on the streets and survive.
I am a rogue that does what I need to do to see the next sunrise that whispers
congratulations for making it to the next day
