2 San Ramon Valley Seniors Headed to State Championships for Pole Vaulting

Pole vaulters Colin Barber and Kevin Tuckness are representing San Ramon Valley High School in the California Interscholastic Federation state championships in Clovis.

seniors Colin Barber and Kevin Tuckness are heading to Clovis, Calif., to represent the school as pole vaulters at the California Interscholastic Federation state championships.

The two seniors earned the right to compete in the championship for their showing last Friday when Barber placed first and Tuckness placed third at the North Coast Section Meet of Champions at Cal's Edwards Stadium.

"I just came out here to try to qualify for the state meet, and that's what I did," Barber said. "Hopefully I vault high next week, show my real stuff and why I'm number one."

The California Interscholastic Federation state championships are June 1-2 at Buchanan High in Clovis.
