Traffic Delays Expected on San Ramon Valley Boulevard

With added construction around town, don't forget to share the road with cyclists.

DANVILLE RELEASE

On the south side of town, CalTrans will be continuing to work on their soundwall project, causing minor traffic delays throughout January.

San Ramon Valley Boulevard will be down to one lane between Fountain Springs Drive and Jewell Terrace from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The work is expect to last through Jan. 30.

Motorists are cautioned to expect minor delays and encouraged to exercise caution through the work areas.

Don't forget to ask the cyclists to share the road with cars as well. They are famous for running red lights, riding 4 abreast on Diablo Road and otherwise acting like entitled little children, so yes share the road with them and see if they do the same with you.

Equating cyclists to a child-like mentality is accurate, sadly, for far too many riders. And like children, "sharing" is an empty and indescribable concept. Instead of 'sharing' use 'take turns' and suddenly children get the idea. The problem here is, like unruly children, cyclists would expect that it is their turn all the time... which is pretty much what we already see.
