Stubble, Straw Burning Season Closes Sunday

The permissible burn season began on Sept. 1

There won't be any agricultural burning any time soon, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced, as one of its permissible burn seasons ends Sunday.

The permissible burn season, which began on Sept. 1, allowed the burning of stubble and straw for agricultural purposes on "burn" days, BAAQMD spokesman Aaron Richardson said, but as of Sunday will not be allowed.
