Monte Vista Teen 'Protest' Sign Goes Viral

Greg Danner, 17, of Monte Vista High School, participated in a Tea Party Protest in Danville... sort of.

Greg Danner joined a Tea Party Protest in Danville... but he wasn't out there in support of them. He just really likes signs, he said.

"A few weeks ago, I saw members of the East Bay Tea Party protesting at a four-way intersection near my house in Alamo. On a whim, I made my own sign - which says, "I just really like signs" - and joined their group," the 17-year-old Monte Vista High School student told Danville Patch via email. "I got lots of laughs/smiles/thumbs up from people driving by."

On Friday, there was another rally at the corner of Sycamore Valley Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, near the Livery. Danner, again, was on board.

"I saw members of the Tea Party once again protesting - this time at an intersection in Danville. Once again, I brought out my funny sign and joined their group," he said. "A large amount of people driving by smiled, took photos, and gave thumbs ups."

The photo made it to the Internet -- as most things do these days -- and the thumbs up continued.
