Democratic congressman George Miller has won re-election, defeating  Republican Virginia Fuller in the newly drawn 11th congressional district.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Miller had received 69 percent of the vote compared to Fuller's 31 percent.

The district includes Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Danville, Lamorinda, Pittsburg, Richmond and El Cerrito.

Miller has been representing the East Bay in Congress since 1975. He is the chairman of the House Democratic Policy Committee.

In November 2008, he received 73 percent of the vote. In November 2008, he received 68 percent.

Fuller is a registered nurse who immigrated to the United States in 1976. She became a political activist in 2000.
