Danville Town Council Race: Newcomer Morgan Will Join Incumbents

Seven candidates competed for three seats for Danville Town Council.

In the race for three seats on the Danville City Council, the two incumbents won re-election with challenger Renee Morgan edging out Bob Nealis for the third spot.

  • Newell Arnerich: The current mayor of Danville. Has served on the Town Council since 1995. Wants to maintain Danville's "small town atmosphere and outstanding quality of life."
  • Mike Doyle: Looking for re-election on the Danville Town Council. Want to make the town financially stable and "make sure that the citizens of Danville enjoy an unparalleled quality of life with good schools, safe streets."
  • Bob Nealis: A retired international business executive and believes his management experience will keep Danville's quality of life at a high level.
  • Renee Morgan: Has served as a planning commissioner for eight years. If elected she says, "I will embrace the job from a personal perspective that draws upon my experience as an active resident, caretaker and business executive."
  • Jim Jelincic: A business owner who has lived in Danville for 17 years. He says he will, "call for term limits, honesty in our leaders, and a 3-point plan to preserve, promote, and protect.
  • Deanna Sullivan: A business woman who has lived in Danville for 25 years. She says she, "feels very strongly about teen safety and providing our youth with activities to keep them focused and on the right path.
  • Lori Hock: Is the owner operator of State Farm Insurance in Danville and has lived in the town for over 20 years. She says, if elected, "it will be my duty to represent the citizens and businesses of Danville to maintain quality of living and a business friendly environment that we deserve in a fiscally responsible manner."
