Danville's 4th Annual Earth Day Event
Danville's own American Idol Rachel Rolleri will stop by the festivities and perform at 12 p.m.
Information provided by Town of Danville—
Co-sponsored by the Town of Danville, Sustainable Danville Area and the San Ramon Valley Library, this event is also intended to celebrate the planet through a variety of hands-on green activities for residents and visitors of all ages. During the 4-hour event, participants will explore over 25 booths located on the Town Green, in the Danville Community Center and inside the Library on Front Street.
Those interested in green living and sustainable practices will find booths that cover sustainable living topics such as pesticide reduction, green building, landscape design, water conservation, solar power, energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, and hybrid and electrical vehicles.
The Library will host exciting hands-on interactive environmental craft and activity stations presented by the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Earth Day crafts, and a giant globe will entertain the little ones.
Opportunities for students to enter an annual Earth Day Poster Contest that culminates with an awards reception and a mini-exhibit inside the Village Theatre Art Gallery will be available two months prior to the event.
Along with the East Bay Parks educational van, we will also have student volunteers, live music, local restaurants, Mr. Funnel Head, The Plastic Lady, many displays, free bike parking, interactive creek walks, and much more. All participants will convene on the green to ensure a memorable, safe and zero-waste event!
