Local High School Grad, Marine Combat Veteran, Trains for Another Deployment

Lance Cpl. Jordon Dorrance, 21, of Danville enlisted with the Marines in an early entry program before he graduated from San Ramon Valley High in 2010. Dorrance was with his infantry squad Monday Jan. 21 during an exercise at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms. 

Economist Says Bay Area Economy Improving, Thanks to Tech

Economist Jon Haveman spoke to the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce about the Bay Area economy at the Blackhawk Country Club on Friday.

"It's getting better in the Bay Area than almost anywhere else in the county," Haveman said during his presentation, which was attended by about 200 chamber members. Watch the video here.

Closed: Fat Cactus Grill and Bar

The Fat Cactus Grill and Bar in San Ramon has closed, according to a Jan. 16 post on their Facebook page. The Mexican restaurant, which had almost 150 mixed reviews on Yelp, will be reopening as Maui Burger Company.
