Update: CHP Blames Bicyclist for Weekend Accident

A Volvo crashed into a bike going the wrong way while carting a toddler in a carrier in Alamo Saturday.

A man towing his toddler on a bicycle is at fault in a collision with a car that happened in Alamo on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident resulted in minor injuries to the bicyclist and his daughter in the bike carrier.

The crash happened when a 47-year-old Castro Valley man was bicycling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Danville Boulevard with his daughter in a pull-along bicycle carrier, according to the CHP.

A 45-year-old woman from Alamo was making a right turn from Camille Avenue onto Danville Boulevard at 2:20 p.m. when she did not see the bicycle and hit the 47-year-old Castro Valley man and his two-year-old daughter.

The girl and her father were wearing helmets and were treated for minor injuries.
