Suspected Drunk Driver Hit Power Pole, Knocks Out Power for 4,000 Customers Saturday

Thousands in Danville went without power on Saturday after a woman suspected of driving drunk hit a power pole on Camino Tassajara, the Contra Costa Times reports.

About 4,000 PG&E customers were without power as a result of the crash and power was restored to most customer by Saturday evening.

The accident happened at about 6 a.m. The 22-year-old, whose name was not immediately released, was driving east on Camino Tassajara, veered off the road near Liverpool Street and hit the pole with her car.

She had minor injuries after the collision and was driving alone.
