An 18-year-old man was arrested on a charge of possession of stolen property. Gregory Mifune-Gutierrez, 21, was arrested in connection with an outstanding burglary warrant and possession of an unlawful weapon. Both were booked at the Martinez jail.

Stolen property was recovered during the arrests, and police are investigating whether or not there is a link between last week’s thefts.

“I am very proud of our detectives for working proactively and creatively to address the recent spate of thefts in the community,” said Simpkins. “By partnering with residents who take steps to secure their property, we will do our part to aggressively catch criminals. Together we will send a strong message to those who think they can come to Danville to commit crimes.”
