UPDATE: According to Danville Patch Facebook readers, the dog was found by a family that kept it until the owner could come pick it up. And no, he didn't land the copter in the yard. He came by car.
A helicopter that alarmed some residents in Blackhawk Monday afternoon belonged to a pilot who was looking for his lost dog, according to Danville Police Lt. Jeff Moule.
Danville police did not initially know how low the helicopter was flying or if any laws were broken.
The helicopter did not go unnoticed.
Resident Cassie Herz said on Danville Patch's Facebook page, "Hey does anyone know why there is a helicopter flying REALLY low in the Blackhawk area of Danville (like Woodranch/Old Blckhawk Rd)????"
Denise Solecki McCall responded to Herz, saying, "I am wondering the same thing!"
Danville police said they received calls from the community asking about the helicopter as well.
