Homeless Man Arrested On Iron Horse Trail

Man was arrested this morning on assault with a deadly weapon charges after police say he threatened a delivery truck driver.

A homeless man was arrested by Danville police this morning after a delivery truck driver said the man threatened him with a broken bottle.

Iver Hilde, a transient in his 40s, was booked on assault with a deadly weapon charges, according to Lt. Jeff Moule.

The incident began about 8:30 a.m. when the delivery truck driver was parked in the Lucky supermarket parking lot on San Ramon Valley Boulevard.

The driver told police a homeless man approached him menacingly with a broken bottle. The driver said the man ran off after he opened his truck door and knocked him away.

Moule said police searched the Iron Horse Trail, where they found Hilde. He was later identified by the driver as the man who threatened him.

Moule said Hilde is well known to Danville police officers. He said Hilde has been arrested before, but it is against police department policy to provide details of past incidents.
