Half-Acre Fire in Alamo Extinguished

Late afternoon blaze burned vegetation on remote hillside

A late afternoon fire burned a half-acre of vegetation in western Alamo today.

The blaze was first reported at 4:52 p.m. at the end of Hemme Drive, according to a dispatcher with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

The fire was quickly extinguished using ground crews and California Department of Forestry aircraft.

The burned region is in a remote area and firefighters had to hike in, the dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
