Driver Posts Bail; Victim Remains in Critical Condition

The victim, Diana Gregory, lives about half a mile from where she was hit by a car on Monday night.

The woman who was hit by a car on Camino Tassajara Monday night remains in critical condition at the John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. The man driving the vehicle was released after posting bail earlier this week.

Diana Gregory, 53, was identified Tuesday evening.

The driver, Danville resident Samuel Herrick, 50, posted $50,000 in bail earlier this week and was released from the county jail in Martinez. Herrick was arrested in suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury.

Gregory is a resident of the Meadow Creek Subdivision, located about half a mile from where she was hit.

"She would walk nearly every day from the Blackhawk area all the way to downtown Danville where she was a frequent member of Danville Fit," user Joe King commented on Facebook.
