Danville Police Department Hosts Open House

The open house for the public to get a look behind the scenes is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21.

Danville residents interested in learning about how the police operate and what happens behind the scenes at the Danville Police Department will get the opportunity this fall in an upcoming open house.

The Open House is set for Saturday, Sept. 21.  

From 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., residents can come to 510 La Gonda Way to get a close-up look at their police department.

Guests can tour the PD, check out the special vehicles on display or watch demonstrations of special programs, such as the K-9 Unit.

In addition, guests will be able to enjoy hot dogs, soda and popcorn.  Young Danville residents will receive balloons and stickers at the event.

Police Chief Steve Simpkins said he believes having these events will help educate the public about the work of the PD.  

“They’ll get to see what we do, how we do it and, most importantly, why we do it, Simpkins said.
