Introduced in 1984, the National Night Out is an evening set aside to heighten awareness in neighborhoods and strengthen participation in local anti-crime efforts.

National Night Out is held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6. Citizens are encouraged to set up block parties, get to know their neighbors and enjoy the evening. Police Chief Steve Simpkins and other members of the Danville Police Department will be out visiting block parties that have registered with the Department.

“Over the years, National Night Out has strengthened neighborhood spirit and the Police Department’s partnership with the community,” said Simpkins.
