Big Rig Catches Fire on San Ramon Valley Boulevard

Nobody was hurt in the blaze and firefighters extinguished it within 15 minutes.

A big rig caught fire and then engulfed a construction vehicle it was carrying on San Ramon Valley Boulevard near Lucky's on Thursday afternoon, according the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 3:54 p.m. and it was extinguished by 4:07 p.m.

The fire was thought to have started on the tire of a big rig and then spread to the construction vehicle on board, fire district spokesman Kimberly French said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
