Bicyclist Hit By Vehicle Near Bollinger Canyon Road On-Ramp

The accident was reported at 2:08 p.m. and the bicyclist was taken away by a medical helicopter.

A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle near an on-ramp to Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon this afternoon, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The accident was reported at 2:08 p.m. near the Bollinger Canyon Road on-ramp to northbound Highway 680, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District spokeswoman Kimberly French said.

The bicyclist was injured and is being taken to a hospital by a medical helicopter, French said. She did not have information about the victim's condition.

The on-ramp remained shut down as of 2:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

You're welcome, Wendy. I was just the first responder and had ACLS training. I like to believe that everyone in the SR community would have done the same thing if placed in a similar situation. I only hope and pray, like everyone else, that he makes a speedy and complete recovery.
