Authorities Investigating Possible Suicide in Mount Diablo Crash
The 58-year-old Danville woman was found dead in a ravine near the South Gate Road entrance.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of a solo-vehicle crash Friday, although they are looking into the likelihood that the victim died in a suicide.
California Highway Patrol Office Tom Maguire said Loretta Hale's death was probably a suicide. Loretta Hale, 58, died Friday after her black 2006 Land Rover went off South Gate Road.
Her SUV tumbled down a steep embankment before coming to rest in a rugged area a half-mile south of the South Gate entrances, fire and California Highway Patrol officials told the Contra Costa Times.
