Attempted Murder: Man, 65, Stabs Teenage Girl

Pleasant Hill police took Robert J. Fromm into custody after 16-year-old girl arrived at an area hospital with stab wounds to her chest and hands.

A Pleasant Hill man is being booked for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old girl. Pleasant Hill police arrested Robert J. Fromm, 65, Wednesday morning after responding to a call from an area hospital, where the victim had arrived suffering from stab wounds to the chest and hands, according to police.

Fromm was taken into custody after police forced entry into a residence on the 1900 block of Patricia Drive in Pleasant Hill. Police say they found Fromm suffering from self-inflicted stab wounds.

At least three non-lethal shotgun shells could be seen in the middle of Patricia Drive late Wednesday morning. Police did not confirm the use of non-lethal weapons during Fromm's arrest.

Lisa, who declined to provide her last name, is a neighbor who lives near the home and crime scene in Pleasant Hill. "I heard police drive up, then say 'Robert, come out with your hands in the air,'" she said. "... then I heard three shots."

A Pleasant Hill crime scene investigator was on scene and police, who set up yellow tape around the house.
