Dr. Misner has a Ph.D. is from the University of Southern California. He is a New York Times Bestselling author who has written 17 books including the second to his latest #1 bestseller about “gender” called; Business Networking and Sex (not what you think). He’s a monthly columnist for Entrepreneur.com, Fox Business News and has taught business management at various U.S. universities. Plus, he’s the Senior Partner for the Referral Institute, a referral training company with trainers around the world.
Furthermore, he’s called the “Father of Modern Networking” by CNN and by Entrepreneur magazine, the “Networking Guru.” Dr. Misner, is regarded as one of the world's leading experts on business networking. He’s also a keynote speaker for major corporations and associations around the world. As well as featured in the L.A. Times, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times, numerous TV and radio shows including Today Show on NBC, the BBC, CNN, the BBC.

Our show topic was his 16th book a best seller “Business Networking and Sex (not what you think). Authors Dr. Ivan Misner, Ph.D, Hazel Walker, Frank J De Raffele Jr., published by EntrepreneurPress.com, available on Amazon.com.
After reading the book Dr. Misners media given titles of “Networking Guru” and “Father of Modern Day Networking” is apropos. His book was based on a study of 12,000 business people, men and women that circled the cultures around the world.
My interview began with the question of what motivated him to write the book Business Networking and Sex (not what you think). In that introduction I discovered that his most recent and 17th book “A Room Full of Referrals” was published in February. About behavior profiles and the how different styles of behavioral characteristics should change the way you should sell or refer to people because they are coming from a different perspective.
With that I naturally segued into the differences between men and woman noted in the book of topic Business Networking and Sex (not what you think). In reading the book I made the candid observation that the differences began with our symbols that they are pointing in different directions and we’ll never get them together.
Thereafter, I asked Dr. Misner what motivated him to write this book Business Networking and Sex (not what you think) with his co-authors Hazel M. Walker and Frank J. De Raffelle Jr. He indicated that he and his colleagues were involved in networking groups for decades, and they saw how men and women miscommunicated with one another. Although, doing so with good intentions, but they weren’t on the same wave length. So instead of doing a book about their combined experiences they decided to do a survey of 12,000 people and from every populated continent around the world.
The survey compared and contrasted men and woman and how they related to one another in the context of business and networking. It revealed differences that weren’t surprising and some that were absolutely shocking. What I found interesting about the survey is that it was from different continents, and the outcome wasn’t driven by culture like the American Culture. It was spread out and the outcome of differences for men and women in communication was global. Dr. Misner, also indicated that with the 12,000 surveyed that there was not any great statistical differences between continents and the patterns were pretty consistent around the world. He surmised that" Entrepreneurs are Entrepreneurs, globally, and they want the same things and deal with the same kind of issues to a large extent, and have the same desires of generating business. Therefore, the differences between men and women, were the differences between men and women and from every continent."
