In Memory of Fallen Danville Marine, Six Local Girls Raise $695 for Military Families

In honor of the Danville Marine, Lance Cpl. Joshua "Chachi" Corral, that died in Afghanistan last year, the girls collected recyclables over the summer to raise money for severely wounded Marines.

Over the summer, six Danville girls wanted to do something that would have an impact on people that reached far beyond their hometown borders.

So the Green Valley Elementary School students — Emme Chu, Sydney Chu, Megan McCormac, Kaylan McCormac, Ella Warburg and Honor Warburg — collected recyclables for the Semper Fi Foundation.

The foundation, setup by Denise Corral — the mother of Lance Cpl. Joshua "Chachi" Corral, who died in Afghanistan last year — raises awareness of the sacrifice Marines and their families make for the United States.
