Two weeks ago, I visited the off of Prospect Avenue. It’s tucked away off the street which allows it to provide a nice venue for live music on the patio uninterrupted by street noise. We visited on a Tuesday night, with the bar fully occupied but the rest of the restaurant vacant. Happy hour is only served at the bar, which is pretty small, so be prepared to stand if you come on a crowded night.
Happy hour is offered Tuesday through Friday from 4-9 p.m. Everything on the happy hour menu is priced at $5 with seven choices of food, ranging from Caesar salad to pizza and sliders. An expanded Ladies Night menu is offered on Wednesdays, with some cross-over. Drink options, priced at $5 each, were pretty limited for a wine bar with three wine labels, all of mediocre quality, and four beers.
My BF and I order the mushroom pizza (very cheesy) and polenta, which we found swimming in marinara sauce. I’d like to go back to try other items to see if they are more satisfying. We missed the live music outside, which is only offered Thursday through Saturday and, as mentioned, happy hour isn’t offered out on the patio tables.
The staff was friendly and helpful and allowed us to bring in two cupcakes from Junebug Bakery, located next door. Awesome cupcakes, for anyone who loves a small, sweet fix.
Have a happy hour for Liz to check out? Let us know in the comments.
