Happy Hour 94526: Fleming's Steakhouse in Walnut Creek

For our most recent happy hour sampling, we journeyed northward into the far reaches of Walnut Creek to try out Fleming's Steakhouse.

Fleming's has been here for years but for those of you who haven't tried it, just finding the entrance can be a bit of a challenge. It's accessed through the second floor of the parking garage in the downtown Walnut Creek shopping center on top of World Market (talk about curb appeal).

The restaurant has the typical steakhouse feel – dark and formal.

We arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a Monday, and there were lots of seats available. We felt lucky for we’ve tried before but couldn’t find a table or place at the bar. Sure enough, by the time we left at 7 pm, everything was full.

My BF enjoyed his Pomtini, and I my vintage vodka martini. To accompany our drinks, we ordered the fried calamari and roasted mushroom ravioli. I enjoyed both, but especially the calamari's sweet and sour sauce. I'm coming back next for the burger, which is HUGE and only $6! Comes with onion rings too.

The pricing is clever, billed as “Discover our '5 For $6 ’Til 7' bar menu, featuring five appetizers, five cocktails and five wines by the glass — each priced at $6 and served nightly until 7 p.m.

Next time before the movies, give it a try – if you find a seat, you won’t be disappointed.
