Happy hour alfresco at Faz

For this week’s featured happy hour, we tried . This isn’t our first time there, and we’ve noticed over time that the restaurant and bar show signs of aging, much like the clientele. Still, the restaurant holds fond memories for us, as this was the place of our first date over five years ago.

We asked to sit outside, and were pleased to find that there are a few tables reserved for bar service on the patio. One of the most attractive features of the restaurant is its outdoor patio shaded by umbrellas and redwoods, wonderful on a warm summer evening. Happy hour features beer at $3, well drinks at $4 and wine at $5. We opted for the cocktails, as we normally do. Our pleasant server informed us that we could get one well drink with one mix in. My BF opted for a vodka martini but she said, “No, we can’t do that.”  I said - what if you want vodka and vermouth as the mixer? She was stumped; he went for the gin and tonic instead.

We ordered the cheese sticks, which are a safe bet. They arrived hot and well browned – very satisfying. We also noshed on the free appetizers provided in the bar area - homemade potato chips, crudites like the kind served with school lunches and the occasional pizza.

Fax offers other additional specials in the bar Tuesday – Saturday, so come check them out and dine alfresco – you may love it so much you’ll stay for dinner.

David et al: Here's what the FAA said: "Radar replays show an F18 flew right over DanvilleRead More northeast-bound at 3,500 feet at exactly 10:45, and then started to climb, which would create more noise as the pilot applied more engine power."
