San Ramon Valley Marching Wolves Win First Place at Band Competition

The marching Wolves and color guard won first place in their parade division Saturday, Nov. 9 at the 2013 Central California Band Review & Jazz Competition in Merced.

The event drew thousands from the community and "rivaled the size of the biggest high school sporting events," said an article in the Merced Sun-Star.

The SRVHS jazz band won first place against the advanced jazz groups from other schools, including the school's Advanced Jazz Ensemble. They were also awarded the highest jazz scores in all division, earning the Jazz Sweepstakes Award.

A special outstanding musician recognition went to Adrian Allinson, a 9th grade trombone player. 
 
Other outstanding musician recognitions to 12th grade piano player Andrew Castleman, 12th grade alto sax player Cole Jordan and 10th grade guitarist James Rokas.
