Svalbard- The Norwegian Arctic

Carol Fowler will lead us on an exploration of Svalbard, a series of islands where Europe comes closest to the North Pole.  The sun doesn't set from late April to mid-August, nor does it rise from about Halloween to Valentine's Day.  Nothing grows more than about an inch above the ground.
