KidsReads 2010 Young Writer's Challenge

"When the Library Lights Go Out..."

Every student in San Ramon and Danville is a writer, so share your talent!

  • On the entrie form, rite a sentence, a phrase, a paragraph, a poem, or even a few words about what you think happens in the library after the lights go out? Think and write creatively about the library after dark.
  • This is a creative writing challenge for elementary school students. There are no rules; spelling and punctuation don't count, but we encourage you to do your best work. You may decorate your writing.
  • Entries will be displayed in the library and some children will be asked to share their writing on Saturday, April 17 during a visit from KidsReads author, Megan McDonald.
  • This is not a competition! Everyone who turns in an entry at the Danville, San Ramon or Dougherty Station Library will receive a small prize. One prize per person.
  • Your name and work may be used in promotions, publications, or exhibitions carried out by Contra Costa County Library.
  • Entries may not be returned.
  • Entries must be turned in to a participating library by Friday, April 9.
