2nd Annual Danville Charity Bowl

Get ready for the 2nd annual Danville Charity Bowling Event. We are looking forward to building off the success we had last year. This year proceeds will be going to the Veterans Memorial Building San Ramon Valley. We are looking for prospective donors.

The Veterans Memorial Building, located in downtown Danville,  is a place for all of us to honor the service of our veterans. The restoration and expansion of the building will help to improve important services provided to our veterans. It will provide space for counselors who will help with career mentoring, and a Veterans Resource Center that will help our veterans gain needed access to federal and county programs .  It will provide space for the Blue Star Moms who work to provide support to our actively serving military personnel . The building provides for a wide variety of senior activities and community events; this project will help to enhance those activities and events. This much needed restoration and expansion project will benefit our veterans, our active military, our seniors, and the San Ramon Valley community.

San Ramon Valley Firefighters became aware of the need for funds to be raised for this important community project and we decided to use our annual charity bowling event to help raise some of the funds. Activities will begin with open bowling from 1-5pm, followed by a team tournament. There will be a silent auction and prizes raffled off during the festivities. Food and nonalcoholic drinks will be provided to all participants. Last year, this event allowed us to donate approximately $10, 000 to the families of the Oakland police officers that were killed in the line of duty on March 21,2009.  The success oflast year's event was due to the generosity of many businesses and individuals like you. Our goal this year is to raise enough money so that we can donate at least $15,000 to the Danville Veterans Memorial Building Capital Campaign.
