Community Corner

Opening Reception, Perspectives; Life in Cambodia and Vietnam

Coming soon to the Village
Theatre Art Gallery will be a compelling look at life in Cambodia and Vietnam
through the eyes of 11 Athenian High School students. The exhibit, Perspectives; Life in Cambodia and Vietnam,
will open October 11 and runs through November 9.

The exhibit will reflect upon the images captured during a “spring break intensive” that students
elect to go on during the traditional spring break.  The portion of sales students receive will be
given to the Sala Phum Pheak Bourn Primary School in Cambodia which is one of
the schools visited by the students during their trip. This exhibit and other
related programs, aim to engage the Danville community, educate the audience
about life in Cambodia and Vietnam, and bring Athenian’s community into the
Village Theatre Art Gallery.

The Opening Reception
will take place on October 11, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendees’ will have
the opportunity to listen about the trip from the students themselves during
the Curator Talk at 7:00 p.m. There is also a Young @ Art program scheduled for November 8,
from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend.
