Green Valley Elementary Welcomes Back Sandy Hook

Green Valley Elementary School students from Danville made snowflakes over the holiday break to send to Newtown, Conn.

Along with the snowflakes, 41 Green Valley students also posed for a photo, shot by professional photographer Sherman Chu, standing around the United States with their snowflakes connecting Danville to Newtown.

De La Salle High Football Coach Bob Ladouceur Announces Retirement

Ladouceur, 58, will continue as a teacher at the Concord Catholic school, but the highly successful team will now be overseen by new head coach Justin Alumbaugh, a De La Salle alumnus who has been an assistant coach for more than a decade.

First Newborn in San Ramon Valley

The newborn girl, Deeya, is Pallevi Mehrotra and her husband Deepak's second child. She was born at 8:47 a.m. on Jan. 1.
