Tony And Sully And A T-shirt Design

LaRussa and Sullenberger get together at the Animal Rescue Foundation's Wine & Whiskers event.

On anybody's Top 10 list of the most famous people in Contra Costa County, two stars got together at the Animal Rescue Foundation's Wine & Whiskers event on Nov. 12.

That's Tony LaRussa, an Alamo resident and manager of the world champion St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and Chesley Sullenberger, the Danville pilot who saved the lives of 155 people when he successfully ditched a US Airways flight in the Hudson River on Jan. 15, 2009.

They are shown showing off a new T-shirt design that spotlights the Rally Squirrel and Torty, two animal mascots that inspired the fans of the Cardinals on their run to the title in October and November.
